This is sooooo helpful!! I wish I had seen it before I first hacked my hair, then went to a stylist who hacked it even worse! I've been hacking away almost daily to make it work, but at least now I can force it into a shape that I want with a lot of effort, flat ironing and hairspray. I would love for it to go naturally into this style (kind of a shag/Jennifer Anniston look), but I fear that my only solution is to trust a professional. Yikes!! I am so shellshocked. I have only had one good stylist (a male) but I moved out of the area. You are a lifesaver since covid!! Thank you for all of your effort!

I’ve been trying to cut my own hair the last year or two but I like it a little long. The disclaimer you gave about your experience and how much harder it is to cut your own hair, made me realize I’ve been too harsh in myself. I cut my hair every 2-3 months so I don’t get much opportunity to practice. I’m only interested in cutting my own hair so I should be more patient and realistic as you said.
